Film lag in the beginning of the cartridge

Is there any lag in the beginning film of a super 8 cartridge? I mean, when I hit the button to start the film running, is it filming immediately? It seems like my film doesn't start when i remembered it should.

Yep, it starts immediately.
I don't know what happened, but maybe this is where those little bits Kodak puts in the cartridge come from!
I always start shooting for a few seconds before I have anything usable happen, just in case...
